Platform Securities and FIS are Triple Winners at Systems in the City

Platform Securities and FIS are delighted to announce that they have won three accolades at the 2018 Systems in the City awards.

The awards recognise the leading service and system suppliers to the regulated investment sector and are organised by Goodacre UK; a leading business and technology consultancy for the securities industry.

In the company awards, Platform Securities were given the award for “Best Clearing and Settlement Service”. This is a great honour, as this is consistently a strong field. The award recognises the significant investment we have made in automation and client service throughout the business, including improvements on equity and fund dealing, FX transactions, transfers, reconciliations and sub-custodian interactions. We form long-term strategic partnerships with our client firms and have an excellent client retention rate; in part this is a testament to the reliability of our core processing capabilities.

The second award was in the individual categories – Head of Commercial Relationships Will Burge won “Financial Sales Specialist of the Year”. Will leads the Business Development efforts for Platform Securities, and due to his hard work there are currently three firms at various stages of onboarding to Platform Securities and our Jersey subsidiary, Platform Securities International Limited. Whilst bringing new clients on board is an effort which spans the entire business, Will’s leadership was pivotal to allow for the right result.

The third award went to Platform Securities’ parent company FIS, who won the award for “Best Treasury Management System”. FIS offers sophisticated solutions to manage risk, cash, liquidity, accounting, payments processing, bank connectivity with an embedded SWIFT Service bureau, and more. Treasury management software can be deployed on premise, in a private cloud or in a secure, SaaS environment hosted at ISO-certified and SSAE 16/ISAE4302-audited data centres.

Nigel Reynolds, CEO of Platform Securities said “We are very pleased to be successful with these awards, which are a testament to the hard work put in by our team every day. As the regulatory landscape becomes increasingly more complex, we, and our clients, must work hard just to keep up. As such, we are pleased to be able to go beyond, and deliver improvements to our clients to help them provide the best possible service to their investors.”

Stephen Pinner, Goodacre UK’s Managing Director, said: “The pressure on service and system suppliers is intense and shows no sign of letting up with the forthcoming requirements to meet regulatory challenges such as MiFID ll and GDPR. We received 25% more applications for SITC nominations this year which shows how highly respected these awards have become. All nominees and winners are to be congratulated for their work, most of which is done ‘behind the scenes’ to ensure that our investment services operate efficiently”.
